For the first time in not only Montego Bay, but Jamaica as well, a whistling competition will be staged. The venue is upstairs China Doll Plaza, 14 Strand Street, Montego Bay and the date is this Sunday, August 10, 2008. The event wich is dubbed "Grand Whistling Contest" is being staged by Hylton "The Whistler" Brown.
The purpose is set clear, according to the promoter who wants to encourage and promote the Jamaican whistlers. "And I believe that our whistling talents shall carry peace, harmony and the message of unity and one love into this world of confusion," said Mr.Brown.
The competition is about the contestant`s ability to entertain the audience with their ways of combining whistling, reggae dubsound and any instrument or voice.
Also called Pepsi the Whistler, Mr.Brown is guaranteeing total satisfaction for the audience and he himself will make a special appearance to thrill them just like Otis Redding did in his rendition of "Dock Of The Bay".
